Women Forums have been jointly organised by RISEAP and MWNNA since 1991. Forums were conducted with the MWNNA in Australia and always attended by the late Chairperson Datuk Amar Puan Sri Dr. Hajah Laila Taib.
Also Ladies Training was hosted by Islamic Da'wah Council of the Philippines (IDCP) in Manila in 2002 and two women forums were organised by RISEAP in Kuala Lumpur in 2002. In collaboration with MAMY and ABIM - Islamic Outreach organised a workshop on Methodology of Da'wah and Current Challenges which was conducted in 2003 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Next Women Forum will be in Sydney in 2010.
The first Chairperson for RISEAP Women's Movement our late beloved sister D. A. Dr. H. L. Taib may Allah rest her soul in paradise. Had been a pioneer and a beacon for Muslim Women in the region. For decades she dedicated her life, time and efforts to the education empowerment and unity of Muslim women not only in Malaysia but in the whole region.
Some of her achivements:
- The first Conference for Muslim Women In Development in 1982
- An active role for women in da'wah, education and welfare
- The support and assistance to Perkim Women's Wing in Malaysia
- The establishment of a refuge for Muslim Women
- the establishment of an orphanage for unwanted babies
- A rehabilitation Centre for Cardiac Patients
- An ongoing personal support of women's conferences, training and projects in the region, among numerous other activies
The present Chairperson for RISEAP Women's Movement was elected in Auckland Dec. 2009 is Hajjah Aziza Abdel-Halim, AM, who is also president of the MWNNA.
